"Dwell on the beauty of life. Watch the stars, and see yourself running with them."
Marcus Aurelius
When Ian and I left to go to Carson City, NV a week ago, we left pretty late. We trekked over a rather large mountain in the middle of the night. We saw very few other cars. It was fun traveling under darkness. It felt cozy and easy to talk. Then, when we were at the top of the mountain, I looked up and saw more stars than I had ever seen. Literally thousands of them. I had Ian pull over. We got out and admired the stars in the middle of total and complete darkness. I had to leave the shutter on my camera open for 10 seconds just to get the stars to show up. The scene was breathtaking, calm and beautiful. It was unlike anything I have experienced in a while. And I am thankful that I got to.

I'm not an outdoorsy gal but I do love being out there and seeing a sky full stars like that. Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm getting caught up after nearly a month away from blog reading (and posting) and I have so many things to comment on over here.
ReplyDeleteIsla is an ADORABLE ballerina. That jumping pic is so cute.
Connor looks crazy grown-up in all his pics.
I am so excited about Ian's coffee roasting company. And the name is genius.
And you've inspired me to get off of Program Mode and just get into Manual photography. I've tried a a few times with dismal results but I know I need to just practice.
Oh, and I loved your post about enjoying your kids during the little years and really throwing yourself completely into motherhood with abandon. I've always admired that about you. It clearly shows that you truly, truly love being a mom and it's awesome to see.
Okay, I think that's everything. :)
This picture is perfection.
