Pressing Reset

I recently heard someone say that the first 10 minutes of your day sets the tone for your entire day. I disagree with that one. The first 10 minutes of my day usually play out about the same every day and my days certainly don't play out the same. 'Nuff said.

However, there is something to be said about snapping out of a funk that you are in during the day. Restarting the day. It can be hard, but I have learned how to do it. It usually involves a change of scenery and a cup of coffee (no matter what time of day it is!).

The other day Connor was in full on meltdown mode and mere seconds later, caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror and was totally entertained...and reset, for that matter.

Note to self, learn from Connor how to reset your day so quickly. Don't learn from Connor about throwing poo covered toilet paper on the ground or crying screaming when you don't get your way.

  1. I have found that if I get up before the kids and have a few minutes to myself the rest of my day goes so much better. unfortunately I don't often have the disciple to actually do it.

    Connor's mirror faces are adorable!

  2. If the first 10 minutes set the entire day, I'd have a bad day every day. I am not a morning person and it takes me a good hour to get in a good mood each morning.
